Best Things To Do In Montgomery, Ohio
1. Swaim Park
The Greater Cincinnati area is home to a fair number of parks and public green spaces, but Montgomery’s own Swaim Park is undeniably one of our absolute favorites in the area.
Swaim Park offers a variety of things to do, from fishing in Todd Pond to the multiple sporting areas to the paved trail around the perimeter that’s perfect for walking or jogging.
If you’re a fan of tennis or soccer, there is plenty of space available to play a quick game. Additionally, unlike some other parks in the area, it’s not so large as to be overwhelming, enabling anyone who visits to see everything Swaim Park has to offer.
For us, Swaim Park is a perfect local spot to spend time with the family relaxing in nature. When the hustle and bustle of daily life starts to get to us, it’s nice to know that there’s such a pleasant and easily accessible public park to enjoy.
2. Montgomery Inn
Obviously, any article about the special things to do in Montgomery would feature this one: it’s a veritable Cincinnati tradition.
Montgomery Inn’s ribs and other barbecue accoutrements are simply unparalleled, and if you find yourself in the Montgomery area, you owe it to yourself to drop by their original location to enjoy a quick meal.
As someone who grew up in the Greater Cincinnati area and then moved away for a fair number of years, I feel that I have an appreciation for Cincinnati’s traditional food options that’s a little deeper than most people’s. Once you spend some time away from Cincinnati, it becomes clear just how special those foods are, and whenever I’m back in town, I jump at the opportunity to eat a ludicrous amount of Saratoga chips as fast as humanly possible.
Whether you’re a resident or just visiting for a few days, it’s never a bad time to revisit the classic flavors that make this area so special.
3. Houdini's Room Escape
This one is a much more recent addition to the list, but it’s a worthy one: if you’re looking to find out why Escape Rooms have become such a craze, Montgomery is now home to Houdini’s Room Escape.
If you’re not already familiar with the concept, escape rooms are essentially collaborative puzzle-solving challenges that you and your friends and family can attempt to solve together. By manipulating the props in the room and exploring every inch thoroughly, you can solve clues to figure out what’s necessary to escape the room before the time runs out.
Each room is designed for groups of varying size and features scaling difficulty to ensure that anyone can try their hand, no matter their level of skill.
Especially if you’ve never done one of these before, I highly recommend checking this out: it’s a fun, silly, and sometimes surprisingly challenging experience that’s sure to entertain a crowd and especially great if you’re bringing kids along.
4. Blaine’s Fine Men’s Apparel
